Open Enrollment 2027 State FAQ
For residents of these specific states, it is crucial to understand that open enrollment dates are not uniform; they can vary significantly. To avoid missing out on essential coverage or changes, please ensure that all enrollment actions, whether for new plans or modifications to existing ones, are completed strictly within these designated timeframes. Missing these deadlines could result in a lapse in coverage or limit your options until the next enrollment period.
Our recommendation: whatever the state's cutoff, have your clients' employees complete their enrollment at least a week before the date coverage should start. Enrollments finished right at the deadline sometimes run into snags, even on HealthCare.gov, that push the start date back a month, and securing a backdated start date afterward takes a lot of work. A week of breathing room gives you and our team time to sort them out.
