Accepted vs Waived: What Changes in the Employee Benefits Portal

For agents: If an employee says Bank / Reimbursements disappeared, check whether they waived.

Accepted (enrolled path)

Employees who accept ICHRA typically get the fuller Benefits Portal experience once setup progresses: Home, Bank, Reimbursements, Auto-Reimbursements, Documents, Shop (exact items can still depend on setup status).

Waived

Employees who decline / waive ICHRA get a limited portal — commonly Home, Documents, Shop, Perks — and do not get Bank / Reimbursements / Auto-Reimbursements.

That is expected product behavior, not a broken account.

What to coach

  • Confirm enrollment choice (accepted vs waived) with the employee / employer Admin.
  • Waived employees generally should not expect premium reimbursements.
  • During renewals, waived/enrolled employees may be asked to choose again for the next plan year.
